Statement...AMAN Condemns Israel’s denial the Yemeni Delegation entry to the Palestinian territories

The Israeli Occupying Forces have denied the Yemeni delegation from entering the Palestinian territories. This delegation was planning on participating in AMAN’s annual Transparency Festival, and for first hand learning about AMAN and its experience.

In alignment with Transparency International’s strategy and aim of building capacities of the different chapters via sharing and exchanging of expertise and experiences through exchange visits, trainings, exchange of publications and information, the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (Transparency Palestine) took initiative to invite the Transparency Yemeni Chapter to visit Palestine to learn about AMAN’s experience and expertise in different sectors. This in addition to participating in AMAN’s Transparency Festival on December 4th, and which coincides with the International Corruption Day.

AMAN has duly submitted the required paper work for the entry of the members of the delegation to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, to be informed on follow-up that the Israeli Authorities denied the Yemeni delegation entry to the Palestinian territories. Furthermore, AMAN was informed that the Israeli Authority refuses entry of Iraqi, Syrian, and Lebanese delegations.

We at the Coalition for Accountability and Integrity-AMAN consider the Israeli Authority’s entry denial   of the Arab delegations prohibiting them from reaching and participating with Palestinians, part of a systematic plan for isolating Palestinians from surrounding Arabs as well as a violation of our rights to be in touch and contact with Arabs. We express our refusal and condemnation of such racial and oppressive practices, which cripple anti corruption efforts and puts obstacles in our work at every level.
